Beer is in my blood as evidenced by the 16th century German beer glass with the Arms of Puchner on display at the Getty Museum. I’ve always been a beer lover. I started homebrewing in 1986 because there wasn’t much in the way of interesting beer to drink back then so instead I brewed my own. My professional brewing career began in the early 90’s when I opened some of the first brewpubs in SoCal. I was hired by BJ’s in 1995 to build their first brewery restaurant. I’ve seen BJ’s grow to over 200 restaurants in 30 states and over a billion in sales. We are inventing the future. What a wild ride!
